Scarlet Enclave Raid - WoW Season of Discovery
Tank the boss where he stands, facing the front of the room.
Entire raid stacks behind the boss, including melee and ranged DPS.
Healers position themselves near the side pillars to line-of-sight (LoS) incoming adds.
Two off-tanks are needed to pick up adds spawning from the sides of the room.
Hunters should stay further back due to their range requirement.
A ranged player will be marked with a yellow circle—they must drop it on top of adds.
Drop pattern:
1st fire: Left pillar
2nd fire: Right pillar
3rd fire: Discarded (back of the room or behind a pillar)
4th fire: Replaces 1st
5th fire: Replaces 2nd
6th fire: Discarded again
Goal: Kill all adds in the fire to prevent Reclamation (a resurrection mechanic).
Adds frequently cast Divine Offering (cannot be interrupted), so:
Use stuns, polymorphs, and other hard CC to stop the cast.
If allowed to cast, they will heal each other and the boss.
Ravagers can one-shot cloth wearers, so off-tanks must protect healers.
Position fires slightly in front of pillars.
Adds must die inside the fire.
Tanks can briefly dip into the fire to reposition adds.
Wake of Ashes: A tank frontal. Keep boss facing away from raid.
Blinding Flare: Look away or be disoriented. If tank is affected, the boss will one-shot the next highest threat target.
Blade of Malice: A heavy tank buster (~8k damage). Priests should pre-shield the tank.
Execution Sentence: Stuns the tank and reduces armor & dodge. Use Pain Suppression and Shield Wall.
Reclamation: Boss resurrects any adds not in fire—avoid at all costs.
At 55%, the Ashbringer awakens. Burn it down quickly.
Cleave remaining adds. Use major cooldowns and health potions.
At 40% Ashbringer HP, healing becomes critical—damage pulses during a 5-second shackle.
Get to the mage circle at the front of the room within 15 seconds to avoid a Dying Light wipe.
Phase ends with rocks falling and a portal opening—run through the portal.
Encounter resumes in a new area. Spread out slightly more to deal with incoming mechanics.
Cessation: Boss summons 5 adds when reaching 100 energy. Kill them off to the side—they leave purple pools on death.
Continues using:
Blinding Flare – Look away
Blade of Malice – Pre-shield tank
Execution Sentence – Use tank CDs
Quetus: A frontal tank buster with 9-second DoT. Pre-shield and monitor closely.
Tank will be hit by four major abilities:
Quetus
Blade of Malice
Execution Sentence
Judge and Worthy
Rotate Barkskins, Pain Suppression, and Shield Wall consistently.
At 10% HP, the Ashbringer returns and revives all previous bosses.
Don’t panic—most mechanics are mild.
Key Threats:
Herod’s Whirlwind: Avoid or it will wipe the raid.
Stock Breaks: Can cause disarray, but manageable.
If Caldoran enrages, he one-shots the entire raid, even through Divine Shield.
Use target dummies and kiting to delay his movement if needed.
Rogues can Vanish after dragging him away for a few extra seconds.
Use a rogue tank: High dodge helps mitigate boss’s heavy melee damage.
Two off-tanks: Essential for add control.
Fire placement: Critical to the entire encounter’s success.
Healer positioning: LoS adds with pillars to prevent early deaths.
DPS Check: Phase 2 is tight—burn Ashbringer fast or face a wipe.
Caldoran is a coordination-heavy boss with a heavy emphasis on fire positioning, add control, and healing throughput. Phase 1 is the real test; once your team has that under control, Phase 2 is much simpler. Push hard, stay disciplined, and you'll defeat him.
